My Word for 2019
My word for 2019 is Intentional.
I feel like in so many things we do in life, there is a lack of Intent. I know, for me, even though I like to consider myself a super hard core planner, I still do way too many things all willy-nilly. This includes not planning meals ahead for my family or for myself so that we wind up in the drive-through or calling the pizza man. It is purchasing something for my home without first measuring or having a plan for it and realizing that it won't work after I have already spent my time and money. It means stuggling to keep my head above water at home because I didn't put thought into all of the things that I need to do. I am not being intentional about my time and resources. And it has been stressing me the F out.
I can't tell you how many times I have had to drive into town twice in one day because I forgot something that absolutely had to be done. (I live out in the woods. Wal-Mart and the Post Office is like 15 minutes away.)
I have a lot going on. I know that. I am in charge of taking care of 3 kids, a husband, a home, a farm, a Real Estate business and an online Shop. However, I chose to be this busy. I don't like to sit idle and I have loads of Goals so I better get to it!
Choosing to be more intentional with my life will help me stay focused without getting constantly overwhelmed. I hope...
The first step I took toward being more Intentional in 2019 was to ask for a planner for Christmas. I used to live and die by my planner. From high school on, I always had one with me and I wrote every little thing down. Somewhere along the way though, I stopped. Flash forward to Black Friday 2018 when I sent Matt a code to use for my perfectly beautiful Erin Condren 2019 LifePlanner. Yes, my husband needs quite a bit of guidance when it comes to what to get me for Christmas or my Birthday. Bless his heart.
I have wanted an Erin Condren LifePlanner for so dang long! I always got hung up on all of the options though. I love every cover style! How was I to chose just one?! So, although I told Matt what to get me for Christmas, I didn't specify anything about the design of it and left that completely up to him. He did so good ya'll! He got the pink lace cover and the little personalization on the front says "Momma Tootie".
I plan to begin each week with a Master To-Do list of everything I need to accomplish. There is the perfect spot for this on the back of the cover. You will need a wet erase marker, but those can be found basically everywhere. Here are some at Target. Erin Condren also makes a wet erase removable Dashboard To-Do List. You can find one here.
A planner is the perfect way to keep all of my tasks organized so that I can lead a more efficient and intentional life. I plan to make this Intentional thing a series of sorts here on the Blog. I am currently exploring lots of different ways to be more intentional in different areas of my life whether it is finances, food, you name it, I am adding lots of intent to errrrrrthang!
